Could the University of North Carolina at Asheville’s planned Millennial Campus development include a new soccer facility? The answer is yes, it could. Sports and recreation facilities are included in a broad mix of potential development, university officials have said.

Word on the street is that university officials have been talking with the founders of Asheville City Soccer, the city’s local amateur soccer team, about the possibility of building a new soccer stadium. The two entities are already partners - Asheville City Soccer has been playing its games at UNCA’s soccer field the past few years after moving from the city-owned Memorial Stadium.
