This newsletter sponsored by Citizens Fuel Co., a family-owned Asheville company. This newsletter is also presented in partnership with Marilyn Ball, host of the iHeart Media radio show and podcast Speaking of Travel, broadcast each Saturday at 11 a.m. on 570AM WWNC radio.

The biggest construction project ever at the Asheville Regional Airport, one that will double the size of the airport terminal and add a brand new air traffic control tower, is now fully underway. The north concourse of the old terminal has already been demolished, and the structural steel outline of the new, two-story building is quickly taking shape.

This report is the first in a series this year that will track the transformative construction project, and I’m teaming up with a local media veteran to keep tabs on it all. Marilyn Ball is a public relations expert and founder of 12Twelve Marketing, the host of a radio show and podcast called Speaking of Travel, and author of a great book about the history of Asheville called “The Rise of Asheville: An Exceptional History of Community Building.”
