The biggest construction project ever at the Asheville Regional Airport, one that will double the size of the airport terminal and add a brand new air traffic control tower, is now fully underway. The north concourse of the old terminal has already been demolished, and the structural steel outline of the new, two-story building is quickly taking shape.
This report is the first in a series this year that will track the transformative construction project, and I’m teaming up with a local media veteran to keep tabs on it all. Marilyn Ball is a public relations expert and founder of 12Twelve Marketing, the host of a radio show and podcast called Speaking of Travel, and author of a great book about the history of Asheville called “The Rise of Asheville: An Exceptional History of Community Building.”
